Future improvements of Battle Royale

Keeping us updated with the state of development and the work they are doing on maintaining Battle Royale on the right track, Epic has just announced that not even the map we are currently playing on is not finished from their point of view (and that is a rare thing to hear from a developer).

Other upcoming improvements are a new game mode, custom games, tournament support and many more items.

But the best thing I read as part of their latest update is this:

We’ve been internally playtesting an overhaul of our shooting model to remove random bullet spread while aiming down sights. We want to improve shooting while maintaining the usefulness of building cover while under fire and without changing engagement distances or the flow of the game.

The initial results are promising. The changes need more work and tuning. We are shooting (har har) to provide a test client and servers for you to provide feedback and iterate on this together with us in December.

While other major developers Cough*EA bitches* Cough are all about greed and draining player’s pockets, other developers still hold their players close by providing an awesome experience and building loyalty. Well done, Epic!
